*** Vendor’s comments *** “I have loved this home for the past 22 years. I bought it just after leaving university, as my very first property, and I was also the first person to live here after it was converted into a modern three-bedroom terrace. Over more than two decades, it has been a very special part of my life and I have taken great pride in looking after it and making it feel like a welcoming family home.
What makes it particularly meaningful to me is that whoever buys it will be only the second homeowner. It has never felt like a property that has been passed from one owner to another; it has been my home throughout and I hope the next owner will enjoy it and create as many happy memories here as I have.
From the outside, the house can be slightly deceiving, as it feels considerably more spacious and inviting once you step inside. The layout is modern, practical and versatile, with plenty of flexibility for different stages of life. I think it would suit a first-time buyer taking their first step onto the property ladder, a young professional looking for a comfortable and well-connected home, or a young family wanting somewhere that can grow with them.
The living space works equally well for everyday family life and entertaining. It is a comfortable place to relax at the end of the day, but it also has the right atmosphere for having friends and family over. The garden is one of my favourite features. During the warmer months, it is ideal for outdoor dining, relaxing and entertaining, while the house itself provides a lovely setting for gatherings throughout the year, including family celebrations and Christmas get togethers.
Although I have been here for many years, the home has continued to feel modern and adaptable. It is the kind of property that can work for someone starting out, while also offering the space and flexibility to become a longer-term family home.
The location has been another major benefit. South Croydon Station is approximately a five-minute drive away, and there are buses nearby as well as tram links to East Croydon. From East Croydon, London Bridge is around 20 minutes away by train, making this a particularly convenient home for anyone commuting into London. The transport connections have made travelling straightforward while still allowing me to enjoy the comfort of living in a welcoming residential area.
After 22 very happy years, I feel ready to move on, but it is not easy to say goodbye to a home that has been such an important part of my life. I hope the next owner will see what makes it special: the welcoming interior, the flexible layout, the garden, the excellent transport links and above all, the feeling of being a genuinely loved home.
This is a home with a history, but it is also ready for a new chapter. I hope it will become just as meaningful to its next owner as it has been to me.
